Thought you'd want to know

... that Kevin confronted his little bully today in front of the kid's mother. Apparently the boy started teasing him as soon as he arrived, and Kevin yelled, "Don't you ever BITE ME, BEAT ME, or SAY BAD things!" The mother and teachers were shocked. I didn't see this because I intentionally dropped off early to talk to the teachers about the issue. Kevin said he didn't want to go to school today because ________ makes his tummy hurt.

Soooo, I found out about Kevin confronting the kid from his mother at pick up time. She asked me what Kevin meant by it. I said, well, your son bites Kevin, teases Kevin, throws rocks at Kevin, and walks away laughing. I wanted to say sooooooooooo badly, "AND YOU LAUGH AT MY SON TOO!" But I didn't. Maybe she is just completely oblivious to the world around her. She told me, "______ says that Kevin bugs him." I just made some small talk that Kevin is social, but from my understanding, has never hurt or teased anyone, and I don't expect that her son will hurt Kevin again.

I'm quite proud of Kevin. I am sure he came off as being a total loudmouth when he said those things this morning, but someone had to do it. GO KEV!

Life is GOOOOOOD!

A little update. The theater production that Juliana was to be doing turns out not to be a hoax or a scam, although it does turn out to be a bunch of people that are (in my opinion), pieces of work. We have taken her out of the program and vow to never get caught up in the stuff again. She will be doing another drama group starting next week.

Other than that, we've been busy riding bikes, going to San Francisco for fun, starting CCD for First Communion, and more birthday parties. We actually only went to one this weekend, but we kinda ditched two others and went to San Francisco. I have to admit, I'm tired of buying gifts for soooooooo many kids lately. I'm on party burn out!

Life is just super busy lately. I have my hands full with so much PTA stuff, things for a friends wedding in two weeks, then just little things here and there. It's fabulous to be busy, but yikes, not all at once. It'll all be over by Thanksgiving, which is a good thing. I do not mean to complain, errrr, maybe I do. :) Life is fabulous, with a mixture of frustrations and pure busy-ness lately, that's all. Sum it up... life is good!

VENTING

A couple things.

Update on the pain-in-the-rear-end kiddo... he began throwing rocks at Kevin today. He missed, otherwise I would have thrown a huge fit and probably made a scene. There is a little more to this story, but that is the gist of it. It is frustrating!

One more thing. Juliana was to begin a stage production practice today that we signed her up for in July. I think we got scammed. There is no such production going on. It looks as though almost $400 is down the tubes for a company that either doesn't exist, doesn't have legit contact numbers/e-mail, or there is a huge communication error. The venue for the production and the practices aka Juliana's school, had no idea what I was talking about today and are really pissed about the situation. Thank goodness I had a receipt printed out that I brought today for the first practice. I think the entire office staff would have thought I was a nutcase if I didn't actually have it in my hand. Who knows what to do from here?!

Ughhh, the last couple days have not exactly been shiny over here. I suppose they could be worse, but in our little bubble of a world, they are pretty crappy days. That's my venting.

Advice please!

I have a wee dilemma. HELP!

Ok, so Kevin comes home from preschool just fine today. We went to the library afterward, then came home, ate lunch, played, and all that fun stuff. On our way to pick Juliana up from school, he got super angry and said that a kid in his class "eats" him. I had no idea what he meant, so I said, "Do you mean he bites you?" He immediately said, "YES, and it hurts really badly. He does it here, and here, and here, and here." He pointed to his legs and both arms. Sooo, then he says to me, "he got a time out 'cause of it". Alright, so the teacher is aware of it.

There are no marks that I can tell are FOR SURE a bite. He has marks, but not sure if they are bite marks. I am not sure if I should be a big mouth momma and talk to the teacher or not. This is the same kid that has teased him since summer time. I remember writing something about the mother that laughed at her rude kid while he teased Kevin. Well, it is the same kid, so I don't know what to do. Advice?

Celebrate Good Times

Kevin had his birthday party yesterday. He is such a lucky little boy! We had such a great time with about 12 kids, and about just as many adults. I love his friends, my friends, family, and thank goodness for Jason too. We worked like a team to keep it running smooth. It was fantastic.

Grand saying GOODBYE to Kevin.
Yayyy OWEN!
Juliana giving the pinata a few whacks!
Cake, errrrr cupcake, time!
The winner of "BEST GIFT OF THE YEAR" goes to Auntie Shannon, John, and Sadie! They gave Kevin a Twilight Turtle. I actually think they are designed for baby rooms, but let me tell you, this kid (and the rest of us) LOVE this. Kevin watched the stars light up his ceiling last night, and I am sure will keep watching them until the poor turtle becomes worn out.

The Third

Tip #3...

IF YOU CAN'T BE KIND, AT LEAST HAVE THE DECENCY TO BE VAGUE.

Tip #2

Next tip from "Stress Tips"...

KEEP YOUR WORDS SOFT AND SWEET, JUST IN CASE YOU HAVE TO EAT THEM.

Don't crap on me!

When I picked Kevin up from preschool today, we were given a sheet of paper with "Stress Tips" along the entire page. Most of the tips are things we have heard before, but made me chuckle out loud when I saw them on paper all together. Here is the first one...

ACCEPT THAT SOME DAYS YOU'RE THE PIGEON, AND SOME DAYS YOU'RE THE STATUE.

More to come. I'll take phrases like that any day to deal with stress. It lightens the mood and something as goofy as that actually puts life in perspective. I actually needed that today. It was a crappy day on the personal front, if you care to know.

Gotta love it

MUST READ... look at "matt, liz, and maddie" (or something like that) blog titled, "photos and dna". It is on my sidebar, along with millions of other blogger sidebars too. Matt captures your heart, which is probably why Rachel Ray and Oprah love him so much too.

Celebrating... again!

Happy 09/09/09! Yup, I am proud to be one of those people that are celebrating ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

Other than Kevin's oh-so fabulous 4th birthday, we have been up to quite a bit lately. Here are some pictures.

Bowling after school on friday. Just fun with friends. No special reason.
Meara's bridal shower. I had the BEST eggs benedict. I had never had it, so I thought I'd try. Yummmmmm!
Juliana with Kitty and baby Kaden. A pool party with friends. Once again, no reason, just for fun.
99 cent family bowling. Juliana got a strike!
I thought I'd close with a picture of Kevin last night. I have no idea when I took the picture. Apparently it was a mistake, but it totally captured a great moment.
