SCORE!

This girl really has been scoring points! Nope, not in basketball, 'cause basketball is simply something she does to release energy. She's been working SO SO SO hard to feel good. She's been in the midst of a big change for a few months, and somehow, someway in the last week or so, she is seeing results of hard work. She's had 3 really good days this week, and for the first time, she is seeing a pattern. I'll never expect perfection, nor should she, although it is wonderful to see results of more than a few good hours.

Never take it for granted when you have a full good day with your child. Never take for granted their smiles, their ambitiousness, their carefree nature... not every child has that running through their veins. When that trickles through their veins, it is a huge deal, even for a brief amount of time. We're working on longer periods of time. Go girl... so proud of you!

After a long explanation as to why someone would do it, I tell her, "You got the gift of donors. Doctors took blood from a few people, made it special for you, and gave you an all new immune system. Your body was fighting itself, thinking it was one big germ. " Daddy chimed in, "Within an hour of your donation, your fevers came down, your face changed, and everyone knew it was working."

Her eyes bugged out, then she threw her hands up, "Thank you people!"

(For the sake of anyone freaking out, this was when she was 13 months old, NOT today or recently. The donation was for the Kawasaki Disease.)

Kids kids kids

Yesterday, I took the kiddos, with the top down, on a long drive to my niece Taylore's 11th b'day party. Holy moly, she's 11?!?! I wish I got a decent pic of her during the party, but I really just went nuts on my nephews. I did get a few of the birthday girl, but they're all action shots, and pretty pathetic.

During the party, I couldn't help but think that these kids are getting so grown up. AND, there are SOOOOOOO many grandkids for my Dad and stepmom. Wanna list? Good, I thought so...

DRUMROLL... Twin girls born today.... Chase and Parker. Yes, girls. They will be joining their 3 sisters. I say "will be", but I think they're being born as I write this.

Ha, I'll have one niece Chase, and one nephew Chase. Juliana has already pointed out the confusion with her 2 cousins. I told her not to worry since they'll never be in the same room together anyway. :)

Happenings

Try not to get too depressed about my lack of blogging. I mean, I know you all sit around and say to yourselves, "How can I function today? No sunshine blog again." Shhhh, ok you don't, so what.

This is what we/I have been up to...

CASA, CASA, and more CASA. He/she shall remain faceless on this blog, but he/she is making Mother's Day gifts for special ladies in his/her life. Can I just tell you how much this child means to me? Can I tell you how much I want the best for this kiddo? I'll never know what it's really like to be "in-the-system", although all I can do for him/her (and others) is try to make life a wee bit better. I try.

Juliana was away camping all weekend, so we went all around in our rental convertible. Totally fun, and totally freezing too! Kev loved (almost) every second of it. Great views, and great fun!

My Mom came over for a Mom's Day BBQ. The kids did her hair, well kinda. She allowed them to brush it, fight over it, put ponytail holders in it... you get the idea. Ain't she GRAND? So good to see Mom on Mother's Day. Speaking of Mom, I have to sign off. We're meeting for coffee in a little bit.

That's right, I pulled out the ultra-cheese for today. I really do love him bunches! I'm not sure what "to the moon n' back" really means, but it sounds good to me.

My May Resolution

Perhaps I should have done this WAAAAAAAY sooner, but I have officially cut back on facebook. I went through my settings and noticed how many games I've played, or survey's I've done, and frankly, it's embarrassing. I do have a life, well, kinda sorta. :)

So, I'll probably continue farmville occasionally, just 'cause it's kinda fun, but no more other games whatsoever! I also "unliked" CNN, and other stuff too. I only comment off and on, but when I do, I get so wrapped up in conversations. Again, it's pathetic! I know it is.

It's a May 1st Resolution, what can I say?!?! :) HAPPY MAY EVERYONE!
