Royal vs. Mine

I woke up at 6am and hurried out of bed to watch the Royal Wedding. It wasn't LIVE, of course. I clicked on the DVR, and began watching the festivities. It was fantastic to be able to skip through much of the pre-stuff. So, I watched Prince Will (we're close, so I can call him that) enter with his brother, I watched the Queen walk in with hubby, Charlie n' Cammy, and of course Kate with her Daddy. I realized a few things. I realized that my wedding and this Royal shin-dig only have a few differences. Shall I illustrate? Oh good....

1. Royal- ugly hats.
2. My wedding- Uncle caught wearing jeans and probably an ugly hat too.
3. Royal- millions of fans.
4. My wedding- about 200 fans, I mean, guests.
5. Royal- brother making comments.
6. My wedding- brother(s) making comments.
7. Royal- brides mother seemingly stoic.
8. My wedding- brides mother hyper.
9. Royal- skinny bride.
10. My wedding- ummm, not skinny bride.

I wonder if Kate's mom changed clothes for the reception too. I also wonder if a caterer stepped on Kate's dress at the reception and ripped the train apart. Hmmmm, who knows.

Rhyme Time

The other day,
I couldn't just stay,
in the house I say.

Instead we went to climb rocks,
docks,
oh what a shock!
Later, we had some house time.
Juliana snuggled Shadow, I folded laundry,
and I'm all outta rhyme.

A huge relief!

Phewwww, thank goodness that newest, more lengthy, version of Obama's "Certificate of Live Birth" is released. I can finally sleep better!

Oh puhhhhhh-leeze! The whole thing is so stupid! The birthers knew that he'd never be able to run for President, much less win, without proof of birth and standard election procedures. Even Carl Lewis was outed for his residency issues. Lewis's headline yesterday read, "Carl Lewis Can't Run". Yikes, I thought he had issues with his legs. I have yet to see, "Congress Impeaches Obama"... Nope.

I feel better. I'll actually feel better when I state that Donald Trump is a stump! Yup, I just made a pathetic rhyme and feel quite good about it. Nooooooooow, I feel better!

The next political ticket should be a Barack Obama/Ron Paul ticket! Yes, I'm serious. Ron Paul is quite rational in many of his arguments. His son, on the other hand, is kind of a quack. Done with politics for the moment.

Bunny Ears

As I mentioned before, the kiddos had friday off from school. We took the drive to another place to see my sister, nephew, and niece. We had a fun afternoon at McDonalds, an indoor playground, ice cream, and the park. A fun and tiring kid day!

Cousins... Juliana and Taylore. Much more flattering picture of Taylore than the one in the previous post. :)
After we saw my sister and fam, we went to see Auntie Meara, baby Jake, Grand Liz, and Danny too. We had the best pizza everrrrrrrrr! I can not believe that we didn't take pictures. Ughhh! Oh, and we had frozen yogurt too. Yes, my kids were ultra-spoiled on friday. It was a blast though.

The Easter Bunny stopped by Grand's house on saturday. Well, the kids weren't buying it, but they certainly accepted their candy and toys.
Easter Sunday! Egg Hunt after mass. There were HUNDREDS (actually I heard 4000 eggs)! They separated the kids from 0-3 in one area, and 4 n' over in another area. Thank goodness. We ended up with about 30 eggs. Totally fun! Juliana sang during communion today too. Poor girl had to sing the chorus about 25 times because of the huge crowd. She did a great job though.
Still looking for eggs.
Happy Bunny Hoppin' Easter!

in a looooooong time. Ha ha! The picture is my niece Taylore. We haven't seen my sister or niece and nephew since before Christmas. Pathetic, I know. We are hoping my dad can be there too since it has been just as long since we've seen him. Shadow also has a vet appt on saturday, so why not go there a day early and then go to his appt the next day. That's our plan Stan.

My mom and I have plans for saturDAY and saturNIGHT too. It'll be a fun saturNIGHT with mom n' me. Tell ya more later.

Miss her

Ohhhh Little Miss Juliana-- We'll miss you while you're away! Yes, even the ear-piercing renditions of Fergie, Kelly Clarkson, and Taylor Swift. Enjoy the sleeping bag, cots, bugs, and less-than-appetizing food. x's and o's!

Up to lately.....

Phewww, I got through April 9th without a major breakdown. It is the day back in 2002 that shifted life as I know it. Interestingly enough, while I was taking the teaching exams for this state, one of the essay questions had a topic about overcoming something. I was able to write about my feelings, thoughts, and experiences while partaking in the exam. That helped me get through the yucky exams, and the sappy-feel-sorry-for-myself day. (Peace Grandma and Uncle Don. xoxoxo)

I'm knee deep in my CASA case lately. It's been eye opening, and often I wish it could be eye- closing. We have all done too many episodes of eye-closing, so I owe it to my youth to continue to open my eyes to him/her, and his/her experiences. I have already created such a bond with my youth. To see the look on his/her face and expressions in his/her eyes makes me want to melt. The other child in the home makes me melt too. Ughhhh, it is my wish that ALL of these children could have someone advocate for them. I can be there for a big bear hug for the other child, but I am not able to be his/her advocate. Makes me so angry, and he/she has told me that it makes him/her angry too. If only I could change their reality, I'd be satisfied with the process. I never can change his/her reality, I just will keep wishing. ----Excuse the "him/her" references. I may just come up with my own name, perhaps with the same gender, to make it easier. Who knows. -----

Oh boy!

((riiiiiiiing riiiiiiiiiing))
Me: "Hello"
My brother: "Hey, I really need your help!"
Me: "Why? What's going on?
My brother: "I really need you to be somewhere."
Me: "Ok, where? What's going on?"
My brother: "I need you to be with us at the hospital."
Me: "WHAT???"
My brother: "Yeah, can you be at the hospital on October 8 to welcome our new son."
Me: "Holy sh**, don't you ever do that to me again!"
My brother: "Haaaaaaaaaaaa, I knew drama would work."

Sooooo, we will be welcoming a new baby boy into the family in October. Cristian will have a baby brother to boss around, and beat up. Love it!

Not to be forgotten in my bloggy mind... one of my goddaughters, Sophia turned 2 yesterday. Juliana and I are going to see Auntie Tory, Anna, and Sophia sometime this summer, and are totally excited. They are such little rays of sunshine. Happy birthday Pia! (She's had the nickname Pia looooooooong before American Idol's chickadee with the same name.)

Lesser of Two Evils

Evil #1: Falling into this hole, on top of this hidden fallen tree. I can promise you that the picture may not show how deep it was, nor the pain my ankle was in, but it was not fun.

Evil #2-: Leaving THIS.
