Not exactly wordless

HAPPY 3rd ANNIVERSARY TORY AND CHRIS!  It's almost time for me to visit again so I can stand in the same church to be the Godmother to both of their daughters (who will remain nameless in Blogland).  Lotsa hugs and looooove....

Totally off subject, but still important today.  Check for updates on "WAITING FOR HAPPY".  Their baby girl will be born sometime today.  This is their fifth child.  Read their story if you get the chance.

Last days of May

Can we say, "HELLLOOOOOO JUNE"!!!!  Phewwww, I got that out of my system!  June 2009 is putting me in a bit of a mind spin.  Juliana will be done with first grade, thank goodness.  To put it nicely, first grade has not been ideal for her, for me, or for any one else that I have talked to in that classroom.  We stuck it out the school year and can not wait for a fresh start in the fall.  On the other hand, the last day of school is also the day that Juliana's Kindergarten teacher (and fabulous friend too) leaves the west coast and heads to another adventure.  It will be a sad day for the school, and for us.  Goodbye has not happened yet, so we will have fun while we still can, kinda like saturday.  Which leads me into this weekend.........

Saturday, I took Kevin in the car and we headed down the freeway for the 2 hours toward the valley.  On the way, about 45 minutes into our drive, I see a bus and do a double take.  I see my Dad driving the bus.  In his retirement, he drives charter buses.  Apparently it is more fun than working for the Federal Government.  (I digress.)  So, I illegally pick up my cell phone and call his cell.  He actually answers his phone, and I say, "Why are you at _______ exit?"  He says, "How do you know?"  and I say, " 'cause I just saw you get off the freeway."  Soooo, he tells me where he is headed and I get off at the next exit to meet him in a parking lot.  His bus was empty.  He had 5 hours to kill while he got his glasses fixed.  OLD MAN, what can I say?!  Kevin had so much fun pacing the aisle of the bus, playing with the HUGE steering wheel, and watching the movie playing too.

After seeing my dad, we got back on the freeway to head to see my sister, brother-in-law, niece, and nephew.  My brother-in-law was playing in a baseball tournament.  My sister and I just sat and talked on the bleachers while the kids played and Kyle played baseball.

Then I headed to see my mom really quick, then got back on the freeway to go pick up Shadow's meds at his vet's office.  BUSY AFTERNOON!

Saturday night I spent having a blast having a last night out with Kerri.  So much fun laughing, gossiping, chatting, drinking, eating pizza (and dessert too), and laughing a bit more.  Gosh, I am gonna miss that girl!  ( No photos... or should I say, I won't post them.  They are funny, maybe I will.  LOL.)

Sunday, Juliana and I went to a birthday party.  FUN FUN FUN!  The kids jumped around on trampolines, did cartwheels, you get the idea.  A great time!

Then we came home and left as a family to go see "UP" in 3D.  Such a great movie!  It really was not what I was expecting, but it was really good.  It was Kevin's first movie theater experience and Juliana's second time going.  They both did really well.  Probably because Jason and I made it a full experience.  We got candy at the grocery store, popcorn and drinks at the theater.... their mouths were moving the entire time, but stuffing with food, not talking.  HAAAA!  Not the healthiest day, but a lot of fun.

We ended sunday with a nice long walk.  I love our walks here.  No matter where we go, there is something pretty to see, and even better, a great background for taking useless photos.  :)

A Week in the life of....

This is what we've been up to in the last week or so.
First time bowling for both kids.  Using bumpers, Juliana and Kevin rivaled Jason and I.  OOPS!  As a matter of fact, I won one game and Juliana won two.

Kevin's preschool graduation.
Kevin and his friend Jack.
School ice cream social.  Sonia, Tiye, and Juliana.
Kevin's other little friend Jack.
DRIPPY ice cream all over his clothes and feet.

CHECK OUT "KELLY'S KORNER" TODAY!  I checked out a few of the baby rooms/children's rooms, and I absolutely refuse to participate.  The rooms are gorgeous and oh-so adorable.  My poor kids have white walls, sticky thingies on the walls to dress it up, no wooden name plates, no theme.  Oh boy, I should get crackin' on the bedroom thing.  Are my kids being neglected in the bedroom department?!

Wild Animals

My camera and computer are not friends at the moment. They are not cooperating, which is making me crazy. I have adorable pictures from our Memorial Day weekend, but I will have to post them once they make up and become friends again. I uploaded the San Francisco Zoo pictures when the friendship was still strong, so here are a couple from that adventure.

Who is next?

UPDATE: Luckily I've calmed down about this. Ughhhh, just makes me upset for those that are hurting. This time the topic just happens to revolve around those who are gay. Sometimes my frustration is about war, sometimes about the homeless, and the list goes on and on.... I just hate to witness injustice, that's all.

------------------------------------------
I was about to write about our fabulous weekend, but that will come tomorrow or some time soon. I am so embarrassed to live in this country sometimes. I will NEVER understand how or why some people are isolated, degraded, left out, and unequal. It truly makes me wonder.

California State Supreme Court just voted to keep Prop 8 as is. In case you've been living under a rock, Prop 8 was passed in November by a 52 percent vote YES, and 48 percent vote NO for those who are gay to have the right to marry.

I have NO idea why I am so upset by this. In the end, it does not effect me whatsoever. I married the love of my life 8 years ago. I am still happily married with two gorgeous children. I guess it just makes me angry on a human level. It is so humiliating to be one of the lucky ones that nobody ever questioned about our love, our lifestyle, our children, our household, our lives, simply because we loved the opposite sex. I guess that makes me better or more worthy of being married and having children.

I am a very black and white person. I see it one way or another. This country is not based on picking and choosing who can do what. It is based on rights and laws. Follow them. It is that easy. Don't vote on individual rights because of whom they love. Law abiding citizens of this country should NEVER be considered "less than" or less deserving. End of story.

HURRY UP ... decide who is next? Who will be up for a vote in November?
