Historical, I tell ya!

The last week of March 2012 will probably go down in history as one of the most relaxing, productive, and uneventful weeks in years. I wish I had a reason you all would understand, but I don't. It's simple.... it's just that one happy event, turned into a good day, then another good day, turned into a fun event. That rarely happens around here. I love this.

On a (well, I got this far in the post, and there is a huge explosion.... well, that was a blast.) ANYWAY, on a different note, enjoy some pics from the last week.

Jake's first birthday party! I do have some really adorable pictures, but since I don't have Jake's mommy's permission to post them, I am not. You're seriously missing out. :)
Juliana enjoying her new tween room. Daddy painted and painted and painted, then finally put on her new bedding and hung pictures she got for her 10th b'day.
I had to add this precious pic. That's really how the last week has been.
In-laws are somewhere in the sky right now heading to us. It'll be a great week of fun for all of us. Stay tuned.

Smiley stuff

I sat on the couch (after a really really really crappy morning) today, and had to force myself smile... so, I did. I thought I'd make you smile too........

My nephew and Juliana pretending the wagon ride was a roller coaster. Haaa, HANDS UP!
Who says that riding a skateboard has to be standing up?
This makes me smile... my brother as Daddy of the Year! No really, he is. You can't pose moments like this.
Random thought of the day... Does Anderson Cooper just make you wanna ooze sunshine and rainbows? Love the guy!

Rain, Rain, STAY HERE!

Yes, I am aware that this picture isn't spectacular. The rain was, so does that count?!?! :)

The rain has been refreshing. We need it desperately! I love watching rain fall. That's all.
Yes, my noggin is foggy and rainy. More another day.......

Vast amounts of sunlight

Completely and utterly random post, I know, I know.

I find this phone message hilarious from Jason today.

"Hey it's me. Just calling to tell you I just notice it's five thirty the unusual amounts of vast(?) daylight outside my window tricked me into thinking it was an hour earlier than this. So I'm getting ready to head home. I'll see you little bit. Bye."

I actually find it more amusing that I get e-mails translating phone messages. This one actually was pretty accurate, but lemme tell ya, many of them are so so so funny and messed up.

(Almost) Back to work

I start back to work on tuesday! Super duper excited, until I remember that I used to do things MY way. I taught in a private school, in my own portable, away from the rest of the school. I'm in the public school system for the first time since student teaching. I keep wondering how different it'll be. Will I like it? I know I can DO it, but can I acclimate to it? I remember teaching every one of my classes mostly in small groups. When I first began, I was told it wouldn't work because the kids were only 5/6 years old. The parents loved it, and the kids thrived. We'll see how it works this go 'round...

I can not believe this little man is nearly in high school now. My last class. I believe this is my version of learning the letter G.
That's right, my class had Spirit Week! Silly Socks Day, ROCKS!

Flowers for her

Why am I posting a photo of baby Juliana? Well, I'm loving the complete picture. Not just our 2 day old baby girl, but the flowers on the bed too. Those flowers were sent to the hospital from my Grandma. Just days later, Grandma had a stroke and never regained a quality of life. Today, I wish I could be sending Grandma flowers.

I still put Grandma's birthday on our calendar. I still count her age, which is somewhat comical. I do know how silly it seems. Today she would have been 98 years young. I'm sure I'll stop counting right around age 125... :) Juliana wants to "visit" Great-Grandma today. I took her for the first time last week. We will not be visiting Great-Grandma, probably because she constantly sneaks into our thoughts every-single-day.

Happy Birthday Grandma! Stop laughing... I know if you could, you'd roll your eyes that we mention it 10 years after your last one. Continue laughing, 'cause it ain't gonna stop for a while.

Back home

My camera is BACK! Her pixels are all healed and hopefully there won't be a relapse. :) I had some fun with the camera this weekend...

My mom had an Open House to show off the work done in her house. The ENTIRE house was redone after 7 years of living there. When she moved in, there were pink cabinets, pink wallpaper, and other horrific colors and designs. For the last 4 months, 4 days, her entire house was painted, floors torn up, an entire new kitchen, new office, new carpets... (almost) new everything! Here is the kitchen... LOVE IT!
Oh, and here is a pic that I took when the kids were playing outside. There are many walking bridges over the water, and this is just one. Clearly, I wanted to have fun with my camera when she came home.
