Sin City

VEGAS VEGAS VEGAS! It was my first time to Las Vegas, and certainly not my last. This trip has been planned for a few months to celebrate my mom's 65th birthday. Her birthday was in March, but who's paying attention, right?!?!?!

I left in the wee hours on friday morning and arrived about 9am. My mom, my godmother Lizzy, and Meara were all there to greet me. Mom and Liz had already been there for about a week, and Meara arrived about an hour before me. Once we got to the hotel room, we headed to the 22nd floor to the lavish pool. Whoaaa, nice! Nice view, nice pool, nice spa, nice lounge chairs, nice cocktails, nice everything. After the pool, my mom and I headed to "New York, New York Hotel. LOVED IT!

After getting ready for the evening, we headed to the Bellagio. The conservatory at the Bellagio during the spring is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Every little detail is made from flowers. I took this picture of Meara because she has been called "Honey Bee" since she was a teeny girl. We ate dinner next to the conservatory so we could enjoy the scenery.
After dinner, we headed to The Mirage for "Cirque du Soliel-BEATLES" or LOVE. LOVE is somewhere in the title, but you get the idea. The show was fabulous. At the grand finale, red streamers flew everywhere, so my mom decided to show them off in good ol' Rosie fashion. She strutted around The Mirage with it around her for a while.
After we gambled at The Mirage and at the Bellagio, we had dessert and cocktails at the Bellagio. We watched the fountains dance around to music while we ooed and aaahhhed at the water, chatted, devoured 5 star desserts, and sipped our cocktails. Pictures will never do the fountains justice. You have to experience it.
This was taken before we checked out of the hotel. My mom lost a lens to her sunglasses. Typical for my mom, so of course, we had to document it. The picture below sums up Lizzy and mom's relationship... full of fun! After all, they've been best friends for 60 years! THANKS FOR A MEMORABLE TRIP!
After Meara, Lizzy, and my mom left, I met up with Jaime. Yayyyyyy! Yup, that's right, I was lucky enough to not only go to a fabulous place for vacation, but have one of my closest friends living there too. So so so good to see Jaime and to chat in person, instead of short phone calls or facebook IM sessions. Ha ha! Love ya Jaim! Hugs!
