Pres. Bush vs. 6 year old

On our way home from the gym this evening, we were waiting at a red light.  On the corner were about 20 people holding signs.  Here is the conversation in the car:

Kevin:  Mommy, what dat noise?

Me:  That's beeping.

Juliana: (speaking to herself reading the signs) "No Bush Ball Out.... Mommy, what does "No Bush Ball Out" mean?"

Me: It says, "No Bush Bailout".

Juliana:  What does that mean and why are those people standing there?

Me:  Well, those people are angry with President Bush for making bad choices.

Juliana:  The President never makes bad choices.  He's good.... (pause) right?

Me:  Yeah well, not everyone thinks he makes the right choices all the time, and they are angry.

Juliana:  Are you angry at George Bush?

Me:  We'll talk about George Bush later honey.  He is a good man with a lot of tough choices.

Juliana:  Is being President hard to do?  Could I do it?

Me:  Yes, it is hard to do.  And yes, you could do it.

Juliana:  A FIRST GRADER COULD DO IT???

Me: (silence)

Some have accused me of being one of those California liberals.  Today proves to myself that I am NOT one of those people.  Yes, I have some ( I said  SOME)  liberal views, but standing on the streets with signs about the financial bailout is not on my list of things to do.  Agree or disagree, but come on people, find other things to do with your time.   You won't find a California tree hugger in this house, that's for sure.
